Generators are pretty reliable if serviced once a year. However, generators are less likely to start in temperatures below zero, especially if they do not have the following:
-
Preventative Maintenance By a Trained Generator Technician.
-
A strong battery – change out at least every 3 to 4 years.
-
A battery warmer that turns on and off depending on the temperature.
-
A full crankcase oil warmer for faster cranking and easy starting.
-
Synthetic oil – it won’t thicken as much as conventional engine oil.
